In Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei, Eid is also commonly known as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Raya Idul Fitri or Hari Raya Puasa or Hari Otak (??).
Eid ul-Fitr is a day long celebration and is sometimes also known as the "Smaller Eid" as compared to the Eid ul-Adha that lasts four days and is called the "Greater Eid".
Dallas Green, i love this guy. he's the guitarist and 2nd vocalist for the band Alexisonfire and his solo project; City and Color is just simply awesome!
Alexisonfire is one of the band that inspire us (my band, the84) to make music. and Dallas Green is our hero.
Dallas (city) & Green (color). sweet!
and here's Dallas with Alexisonfire. sick!
i introduced city & color to some of my friends and they love it, a lot! some even listen to Dallas everyday! ;-)
spontaneous drawing, pen on paper, no pencil sketch, no eraser, no undo.
so here's the final result of the custom Lemi i did for Thunderpanda. some parts were drawn live during STGCC, and i messed up that certain parts because i cant focus. :p
ill post some photos of the printed and folded version of this soon. so stay tuned!
one of the best band in the world. Serj Tankian, Daron Malakian, Shavo Odadjian, John Dolmayan, they were all great people, a group of geniuses in music. very poetic, meaningful heavy messages delivered creatively through an energetic heavy metal sound combined with erm, funny catchy tunes, powered by Serj's and Daron's amazing flexible vocals. Serj for me is one of the best metal vocalist and he is definitely in his own category, i cant find anyone else with similar style.
back in 1998, my band started with butterfingers (as most of us jugak kan). but i think a year after that, we started to cover s.o.a.d songs. we played almost all s.o.a.d songs from the first album; Suite-Pee, Know, Sugar, Suggestions, Spiders, War?, Mind, Peephole, P.L.U.C.K. then we started to cover songs from Toxicity and Steal This Album. i think we are one of the first band to play Toxicity, my friend downloaded it when the track leaked to the internet :p. entered band competitions and won a few. good old days. :) we grew up with s.o.a.d, im still listening their songs till the last album, Hypnotize. i think most people think s.o.a.d songs are too weird and funny. i think most of my friend now didn't listen to s.o.a.d anymore, they prefer 'tough guy metal-core'. heh.
i hope Serj will get back together with S.O.A.D. i want to see them live! haih.
"Chic 'n' Stu" is the opening track from the record called Steal This Album! by System of a Down.
The title of the song refers to Chick Hearn and Stu Lantz, the Los Angeles Lakers broadcasters, but it also is a pun on "Chicken Stew", keeping with the food topics of the song. The first verse "This ballgame's in the refrigerator" refers to what Hearn said when the Los Angeles Lakers were in control during the game. The song itself is believed to be about advertising creating an artificial need for a product, using pizza as an example.
The song was played live in 1999 and 2000, long before the release of the album the song was featured on.
